  My "shameless" relationship with my ex wife

  i've thought about keeping this to myself but i'm still confused on what i should do.. my ex wife(never been a jw) and myself(raised in the org till 16)have been reconnecting these past few weeks.

  we been divorced for almost 10 years, we got married when we where pretty young, and it didnt last long.. fast forward 10 years, her and i have been reconnecting and things are getting semi serious.. she got remarried, divorced again, and recently broke up with her gf.

  so in the past 10 years she has only been with 3 people (including myself) and here comes me "a sucker with no self esteem".

  Back when I first started questioning the WTS, I decided to read the New Testament (using the NWT) straight through, without the use of any WT publication. That was the point I decided they were completely wrong.

  The cherry picking of verses and putting their spin on them out of context is masterful. What's ironic to me is that's exactly what they accuse other Christian denominations of doing. And, while they are right to an extent, it seems the WT does it more than mainstream Christianity.

  Montana Supreme Court will hear the $35M case tomorrow

  the state supreme court will hear oral arguments tomorrow, 13 september, at the northern hotel in billings during the state bar of montana’s annual meeting (announcement 1, announcement 2).

  an introduction to the argument will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the argument starting at 10 a.m. (4 p.m. utc, 9 a.m. sf time, 12 a.m. ny time, 5 p.m. london time, 2 a.m. saturday sydney time).

  I predict that the Montana Supreme Court will uphold the findings for the plaintiff but reduce the punitive damage amount to 3 times the compensatory damages. The WT will spin that as a victory and in one aspect they will be right in that they will have to play less. It's obvious the only thing they really care about is money anyway.

  is this a bad joke or "fake news"?.

  nbc new york is claiming "attorneys are expected on monday to announce the filing of lawsuits in king's county supreme court against eight members of the governing body of the jehovah's witnesses for alleged child sexual abuse claims.".

  Did you forget that the "great apostasy" was supposed to take place after the apostles died until true Christianity was reestablished (after passing a test) in 1919?? That's how the WTS interprets that passage. So either you are being sarcastic (well done) or you are so unfamiliar with your own beliefs that you fail to recognize that. If it's the later, I think you need to study more brother.

  What I found interesting was the cognitive dissonance that was taking place. The mood in the KH was very somber. The comments actually reflected some of Blondie's comments. For example, there was a big discussion about how the first thing the elders should do is call the Branch. Not in the paragraph but one of the elders went through the whole procedure. Of course, it was spun as positive. But, the same elder also said it's a crime so the victims first cal should be to the cops! I also had a few folks come to me afterward and start conversations about the various lawsuits going on and how the WTS has gotten tagged. Again all public info but not something that I've ever talked about. There was much discussion about going vigilante (before and after the meeting).

  One comment about how this obviously was prevalent even within the org and how we shouldn't trust our kids with anyone even if they are JW. Also talk about grooming and what that looks like.

  The odd thing to me was a look in people's eyes that many are admitting there is an issue for the first time.

  There was mention of how the subject was brought up to them while manning the carts! (nice job).

  Maybe, just maybe there is a crack here. Likely they will push it down for the most part but there wasn't as much protecting the borg as I would have expected.

  i'm in queens, but manhattan midtown and upper west side have no power right now, local news stations have tweeted such on their social media.

  i just hope it stays in manhattan.

  too hot for a menopausal woman to go through tonight without a fan or air conditioner (like they're aren't any women in manhattan going through the same thing)!

  simona halep has just given serena williams an absolute ass-whupping, winning her first wimbledon title.. so i guess congratulations are in order.. but, i gotta say, if i'd forked out loads of money for a courtside seat i'd be a bit disappointed.

  the match lasted just 56mins, with halep winning in straight sets 6-2 6-2.. surely, it's time for the women to play over 5 sets in grand slam matches?.

  anyone any idea if there have been any repercussions over whiskygate and if anthony morris was ushered into the backroom after a meeting?

  i am pretty sure if this had been a member of the r&f and the video was all over the internet, something would have been said about being careful not to bring jah's organization into disrepute.

  i am sure the local elders in the congregation he is assigned to wouldn't have the balls to do it and there would have to be a mole pretty high up to find out if the gb got involved.. we can but speculate i guess..

  Losing a loyal friend of 14 years

  this last tuesday was one of the most stressful and sad days of our life when we had our lab morgan put to sleep.

  she was so sick and out of it we just had to do it.

  when i called the spca on monday to make a appointment to have her put to sleep i felt like i betrayed her.
